On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, incoming freshmen will have the opportunity to meet teachers and upper classmen, preview classes, and find your classrooms prior to the first day of school. Please plan to meet in front of the gym at 8:45 a.m., to be greeted by faculty, staff, and students.
Freshmen Preview day will begin with activities in the Valhalla gym at 9:00 a.m. Upperclassmen will lead our new “Wiglafs” with activities designed to help them meet new friends and learn more about Valhalla, and get a copy of their schedule. Students will then be able to walk through the complete schedule of classes, spending five minutes in each class.
Parents are welcome but are encouraged to drop-off their student for the gym activities. Students will be finished and ready for pickup after the Pizza Party at 11:30 a.m. Valhalla is very excited to welcome the Class of 2013 and hope that you will find the first day of school a little less hectic by previewing your classes ahead of time.
Wiglaf Welcome (Valhalla's inaugural incoming 9th grader orientation) will take place on May 20, 6:00-8:30 p.m., in the Valhalla Thunderdome (Main Gym). Breakout sessions will include information from administration, the Counseling Department, the PTO, and sports/extracurricular/ASB. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.
