Welcome Back, Sophomores! PDF Print

Okay, so you made it through your first year of high school. Now what? If you haven't had a Sophomore Conference yet (the meeting where you filled out your Individual Graduation Plan), please schedule one after the first two weeks of school. If you've already had your Sophomore Conference, just stick with the plan you and your counselor came up with. (Of course, you can always make an appointment with Mr. Instone to go over any changes or concerns.) Also, scroll down to see other pertinent information regarding graduation requirements,
A-G courses, and tips for having a successful high school experience.

Coin3 Is Here PDF Print

As part of the District's Post-Secondary Plan initiative, all Valhalla students received a free account on the Coin3 online program. Coin3 is a software program that focuses on college and career exploration, and offers students a host of resources to aid them in making informed post-secondary choices.

Beginning in 9th grade, freshmen created an account, received an overview of the Coin3 program, and researched a career in which they're interested. Parental involvement is recommended, and there is a "parent login" option on the sign-in page. For more information on logging in, please go to http://www.guhsd.net/students/COIN3hints.htm.

Community Resources PDF Print

High school can be a challenging time for both teens and parents. Thankfully, you're not alone. The East County Community Center, located here in El Cajon, offers a wealth of resources for students and/or parents who may be struggling with communication problems, making good decisions, substance abuse, controlling anger, etc. If you'd like to learn more about the ECCC, please click on the following link for further information.
