  • Important Dates for Registration and Course Selection
    MARCH & APRIL 2015
    Counselors will be out in classes working with current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students on their fall course selections and career plan graduation requirement throughout the months of March and April (dates listed below).  If you have questions regarding this process, we have posted worksheets and resources on the VHS Guidance website: 2015-16 Course Selection Resource page.  

    *Parents - Due to an overwhelming number of requests for individual parent/counselor appointments to discuss course selections and academic planning, we are unable to accommodate requests for these meetings at this time.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    IMPORTANT DATES:
    March 24, 2015 – Course Selection Window OPENS
    Counselors meet with students by grade level on the dates listed below to go over the NEW Online Academic Plan and how courses are selected for the 2015-16 school year.  Students will have approximately 3-4 weeks to select their fall courses (ONLINE) through their Student Campus Portal.
    March 24, 2015 11th Grade Students 
    March 25, 2015 10th Grade Students
    March 26, 2015   9th Grade Students

    SPRING BREAK: March 30 - April 3, 2015

    April 9 & 10, 2015 - Career/Post-Secondary Planning (10th)
    April 13, 2015 – Course Selections Window CLOSES

    Counselors will meet individually with students to go over their course selections and lock them into their Academic Plan for Fall 2015-16.  We will discuss options for credit recovery & course make up (if needed), along with what's required for graduation and college admission. Students will need to bring their SIGNED Academic Plan, with parent/guardian signature, on their scheduled day.

    April 14-17, 2015  11th Grade Students 
    April 21-23, 2015  10th Grade Students
    April 29–May 1, 2015   9th Grade Students
    April 27 & 28, 2015 - Career/Post-Secondary Planning (12th)

    March 23-27---- Caltrans, CHP, and Valhalla are teaming up to promote safe driving. There will be daily lunch events, an assembly on the 23rd and daily prizes! PARENTS be sure to attend our parent/student safe driving workshop on Tuesday the 24th from 6-7:30 PM. There will several powerful presentations and your student can earn a parking permit by attending. Also be sure to play the game (we score points by how many students participate) CLICK HERE for more info.

  • Valhalla Teacher of the Year for 2015-16

    Congrats to Mrs. Shoshana Adams on being named Valhalla's Teacher of the Year for 2015-16. She will be in the running for District Teacher of the Year and possibly County, State, and National Teacher of the Year in the coming months. Mrs. Adams teaches in the Social Science Department and is loved by students and colleagues. Please stop by to congratulate her in room 403.

    Attention College-Bound Juniors! Registration is NOW OPEN for 11th grade VHS students to register online for a 2015 Spring SAT Prep Course. CLICK HERE

    Two sessions will be offered:

    SESSION #1: (Closed) Preps for the March 14th SAT

    (4) Saturdays:  February 14, 21, 28, March 2, 2015

    Time: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

    SESSION #2: Preps for the May 2nd SAT

    (4) Saturdays:  March 28, April 11, 18, 25, 2015

    Time: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

    COST: $20.00 (Includes SAT Study Guide)

    Grossmont Union High School District parents can now access student information through the Districts new Infinite Campus Portal. This portal allows for improved school communication and gives parents immediate access to the information they need to ensure that their students are successful at school. Infinite Campus Portal is a powerful tool for obtaining information about your student.
